Alex is a PhD Candidate in Public Health at the University of Guelph (co-supervised by Drs. Sherilee Harper and Ashlee Cunsolo), where she graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in 2015. Since then, Alex has been helping to develop and implement the eNuk program. Specifically, her doctoral research involves working with Inuit in Rigolet to identify and characterize what the eNuk program needs to include to support the health of Inuit and the environment amidst unprecedented climate change. Through this work, and alongside community partners, the Nunatsiavut Government, and her fellow team members, Alex hopes to highlight understandings of how Inuit values, beliefs, cultural contexts, and ways of knowing can influence reasons, motivations, and priorities for monitoring and responding to increasing climate change impacts on health. Outside of research, Alex spends her time running through trails, cooking, and making art.
